Things To Do
You won’t believe the number of things you can do on such a small island!
From archaeology to scuba, from museums to language schools, passing by laying in one of the secluded beaches that are literally jewels between the cliffs.
Did you know that in Gozo there were giants that build temples? They are two of the most important archaeological sites in the entire world! You can find them in Ġgantija, which means “Giant” in Maltese. Guess why?
For scuba divers, there is a simple word to describe the island of Gozo: Paradise.
The island is surrounded by wonderful locations where you can spend hours exploring the reefs, the underwater caves. One among all: The Blue Hole (if it was the favourite spot of Jacques Cousteau, there must be a reason...).
But if you want to explore more, here a small list of places you can dive in: Crocodile Rock & Coral Cave, Double Arch Reef, Għasri Valley, Il-Kantra, Mġarr ix-Xini, Xlendl Cave.
All information can be also viewed at the official site of Malta www.visitmalta.com.
If you want to visit some beautiful churches, Gozo is the right place. There are at least 16 main churches, one of the most beautiful is right in Xewija, at walking distance from Pearl of Gozo: St. John the Baptist Church, also called La Rotunda of Xewkija. This church has the third largest unsupported dome in the world. When you’ll enter the church you will feel so small, compared to the majestic high ceilings. Absolutely worth a visit!
